Open Roles

Naming Associate, PS212

This is a full-time remote position dedicated to a premier global technology client.

As a Naming Associate you will use experience & interest in brands and language plus client and project management skills to help address naming projects across the client’s organization. Projects will include a  high volume of naming strategy and creative challenges and requests.

You will be responsible for day-to-day tracking and development of naming recommendations, with support from the team. You will be client-facing communicating with multiple stakeholders across the matrixed organization, connecting dots, integrating feedback, and applying portfolio-wide thinking as you take into account the broader enterprise brand architecture and naming approach.

Ideally you have at least 3 years of agency or client-side experience working with clients or in-house teams in naming, brand development, advertising or related fields—with a particular passion for language and how brands can use it strategically. You have an understanding of the branding process including value proposition, positioning, brand architecture and naming on both macro and micro levels. You also enjoy working in a fast-paced, intensive work cadence where the bar is raised on a regular basis. While high-volume and fast-paced, you will have the opportunity to gain deep industry and institutional knowledge quickly. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in an environment where from time to time they need to independently take action and make decisions in the field.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day tracker documentation and project management with client and agency teams 

  • Strategic and creative naming consultations, and support in recommendation development

  • Enterprise system-based communication with client contacts across business units

  • Central client team status and check-in support

  • Account budget management 

  • Working with teams based in EST and PST time zones, which may include some early evening calls if based on the East Coast

Desirable attributes:

  • At least 3 years of agency or client-side experience working with clients or in-house teams in naming, brand development, advertising or related fields. You might be coming from strategy, account or project management, or copywriting. At minimum you should be familiar with brand architecture and the branding process.

  • Passion for language and how brands can use it strategically

  • Understanding and knowledge of go-to-market planning and potential marketing & comms touchpoints

  • Experience in client and stakeholder management in matrixed organization

  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Ability to simplify and convey complex or abstract concepts

  • A curious, creative and collaborative mindset to work with multiple client contacts and agency colleagues in connecting dots and solving strategic questions 

  • Familiarity with UX and technology product development
